In this category of questions, you are asked to answer a question about something that could be part of your general knowledge. These questions can be about any topic. These questions are used so your employer can assess your understanding of basic subjects.

These questions measure your knowledge of the meaning of different words. In this test, you are asked to select the word that best matches the meaning of the given word. These questions provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s general vocabulary size.

In the example above the right answer is B, “Accretion” means an increase by natural addition, therefore the right answer is Growth (B).

In an Antonyms question, you must choose the correct opposite word (antonym) out of a list of possible answers. These questions are used to provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s knowledge of the English language. 

Before you have a look at the answer possibilities, try to think of antonyms for the given stem word. Also, consider secondary meanings of the stem word.

The right answer to the example question above is (D) the antonym for the given word is: “Forgiving”.

In Acronym questions, you are asked if a certain acronym fits a meaning that is given. These questions are used to assess the knowledge of the meaning of abbreviations so that the employing organization can assess the amount of knowledge in this area.

In the example above the correct answer is B, because IT is the acronym for “Information Technology”.

In Word Comparison questions you are asked to determine whether the two given words are similar in meaning, contradictory or neither similar or contradictory. These questions are used to provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s knowledge of the English language.

In the example above the correct answer is A, “Similar”. To decide and to determine both mean to settle something.

In Error Checking questions, you are presented with a string of data, and you are asked to find the identical string in a set of similar strings. These questions provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s general ability to quickly identify any errors in complex data. The questions are designed to measure attention to detail and evaluate speed and accuracy skills.

The right answer in the example above is B, this string is exactly the same as the given string.

In these questions, you are presented with a sentence where the words are scrambled. You are asked to rearrange this sentence and determine if the statement that this sentence forms, is true or false. These questions provide the employing organization with information about the general verbal acuity and insight. The questions are designed to measure the ability to think methodically and fluency in the English language. General knowledge is also assessed with these questions.

The answer in the example above is A, "True". The sentence is: “The unit of power is Watt”, which is true.

In Deductive Reasoning questions, you are presented with 2 statements that you have to assume as true. Following this, there is a third sentence which forms a conclusion about the first two sentences. The task is to determine if the conclusion is true, false, or can not be determined on the basis of the statements. These questions provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s deductive and logical reasoning skills.

The correct answer in the example above is C, “Uncertain”. The first two sentences don’t tell us which is Sara’s favorite color. We only know that green is not her favorite color.

Math Word Problem questions will assess your reading comprehension skills and numerical aptitude. In these tests, you will be asked to solve mathematical problems based on short texts. These questions are designed to provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s general reading comprehension skills, ability to visualize information and numerical aptitude.

You can orient yourself by making note of the information that is given throughout the problem, and label variables with what they stand for.

In the example question above the right answer is E, "Thursday 25 September".  Today is 11th August. August has 31 days which means that it will be 11th September in exactly 31 days. This leaves 45 – 31 = 14 days; 11 + 14 = 25, thus the exam presentation will take place on 25 September. Now we need to determine on which day this will fall. Today is Monday. Monday + 1 week is Monday; there are 6 weeks and 3 days in 45 days. Monday + 3 days brings us to Thursday so the exam presentation will happen on Thursday 25th September.

In a number series question, you are asked to find a connection between given numbers in a sequence and choose the right number that comes next. These questions provide the employing organization with information about a candidate’s general ability to logically reason with numbers.

In the example above the right answer 63. After the first number, 6 is added, then every next step the number that is added will be increased by 3. So ultimately 18 is added to 45 which comes to 63.
